Snippets:  some claim it is descended from the native Siberian Samoyed. Everything about it suggests that it is simply a small version of the Samoyed. while some say it descended from the larger German Spitz dogs that were brought to Japan around 1920.The offspring  these dogs were crossbred to create the breed that was recognized as the Japanese Spitz in 1948 .
